New Music: The Heartbreak Chronicles

For the past few weeks, I have been sleepwalking through overwhelming grief and heartache. It's been years since I last yielded power over my heart to an unworthy candidate, but when tough lessons go unlearned, history inevitably repeats itself:

You cannot fix a fundamentally damaged human being with love.

Though I foolishly mourned our parting, I am happy to say that my former heartbreak and art remain intimately coupled. Over the rise and fall of our romance, I felt an overwhelming desire to musically document the stages of falling in and out love: DENIAL, FEAR, ELATION, DEVASTATION & RETALIATION. For each of these stages, I have written a song. In the coming months, I will be releasing these tracks as a mini concept album entitled, "The Heartbreak Chronicles." I am very proud of this new body of work, and can only say that you ought to prepare yourself for some hard club bangers and dance anthems. Boasting an incredible production team including Brian Millar of Black Box Recording Studios and Santa Cruz based DJ The Mighty Quinn, "The Heartbreak Chronicles" will make any sad-mess-of-a-bitch get up and dance.

Figure - Monsters of Drumstep EP

I spent a great deal of Sunday morning listening to some of the most interesting and innovative music in the fine company of the Santa Cruz based DJ Quinn. One of the many gems he introduced me to was FIGURE, a young Midwest producer and innovator of drumstep. After listening through his EP "Monsters of Drumstep," I was literally trembling from the quality and texture of the sometimes frightening and monstrous drops in each track.
